The 5 WHY method

Knowledge base

The 5 WHY method is one of the methods to detect the causes of problems. This is the principle we use to determine the root cause of the problem. Asking a few "Why?" questions allows you to get to the source of the disruption, thoroughly investigate the cause, and focus on solving it effectively. The original method involves repeating the question "why?" until we get an answer to the root cause of the problem. By asking "Why?" questions, the problem becomes clearer, making the root cause easier to identify and eliminate.

The biggest advantage of the 5 WHY is that it is a child's play method which allows employees to solve problems on their own in an exceptionally simple way, makes them think analytically and increases their involvement in the life of the company.

The 5 WHY analysis helps to answer the questions:

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
WHY?
ROOT CAUSE:
Corrective Action:
In summary, the 5 WHY method allows you to easily solve problems in companies and organizations, without requiring knowledge of statistics, specialized training or preparation.
